Heavenly Demon
Consulting
A small engineering studio building bespoke software: full command of the craft, nothing off the shelf, and no problem turned away.
Two instincts.
One standard.
The name comes from the Eastern stories we grew up reading. It stuck because it fits how we split the work.
One instinct keeps things clean: clear architecture, honest interfaces, code a stranger can read. The other keeps things moving: working software in weeks, deadlines kept, problems we don't let win. Every project gets both. We grew up on opposite sides of heaven, and it shows.
In practice that means senior engineers only, a deliberately small client list, and direct access to the people doing the work.
Clean is a discipline
Code a stranger can read, systems that explain themselves, handovers with nothing held back.
Fast is a courtesy
Working software early, replies within a day, deadlines treated as promises.
Bespoke is the point
Your operation isn't an average. Nothing we ship was made for ten thousand strangers.
Bespoke Software
Applications designed from a blank page around the exact shape of your problem — web, desktop, or server.
- Product design & prototyping
- Full-stack build & deployment
- Documentation worth reading
Architecture & Infrastructure
The structure beneath everything, engineered to outlast the people who commissioned it.
- Systems & cloud architecture
- Pipelines, data & observability
- Hardening, backups, uptime
Automation & Integration
Disparate tools bound into one system; the repetitive made automatic.
- API & service integration
- Workflow & agent automation
- Legacy rescue & migration
Three example engagements — illustrative clients, real method — shown the way we'd run yours.
A twelve-person firm losing four staff-days a week to manual invoice reconciliation.
The problem
Invoices arrived by email, portal, and paper scan; matching them to purchase orders was a full-time job.
The work
Ingestion pipeline, a matching engine with a human exception queue, and a nightly ledger report.
The result
Reconciliation runs while the office sleeps. Humans see only the few cases that genuinely need judgment.
A product team whose servers failed only and always on weekends.
The problem
No observability, snowflake servers, deploys by folklore. Every outage was an archaeology dig.
The work
Infrastructure as code, one-command deploys, metrics and alerting with a status page anyone can read.
The result
Better than 99.9% across two quarters. The on-call phone has become a paperweight.
A storefront, a warehouse system, and an accountant's ledger — three tools that had never been introduced.
The problem
Orders retyped three times by three people; stock counts wrong by the hour; month-end a scramble.
The work
An integration layer speaking all three dialects, with retries, an audit trail, and a reconciliation report.
The result
An order placed at noon is in the ledger by 12:00:04. Nobody has retyped anything since.
Listen
We listen until we can state your problem better than you can. Scope gets written down, with a price on it.
Build
Working software in the first weeks, not a deck. Course-corrections happen early, while they are cheap.
Harden
Tests, hardening, documentation. Fast is worthless unless it's also sound.
Handover
Clean handover with training, or we stay on retainer — your call. Either way, you're never locked in.
“Heavenly clean solutions.
Demonic efficiency.”
